Glenda? Welsh. Fair and good. Philip? Greek. Lover of horses. Every name has a meaning, cultural, spiritual or histoical. What's Carnic mean then??? Well, I'm lucky to get a unique and rare name. Away from the eyes of my grand parents (was told I would have got some hadocre Tamil cutural / spiritual names), at Carnicobar a supposedly beautiful island in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands during my father now retired Flt Lieutenant S Thangavel's posting, I was named Carnic Karthikeyan. Carnic from Carnicobar & Karthikeyan from the name of Lord Karthikeya, brother of Lord Ganesha and son of Lord Shiva.
Over the years my name has been assumed and spelt in numerous ways...Karnic, Carnik, Carnick, Karnik etc. And every time I was more than happy to correct it and let them know the reason behind my name being Carnic!
